I learned how to believe in myself and my abilities. This program showed me that every decision I make will have an impact on my life, and that I should always aim to do good. MOSTe taught me that no dream of mine is too small, and that I am equipped to conquer anything that I put my mind to. It helped me to step out of my comfort zone to grow into the person that I am today.

Women are amazing. Whenever I go to a MOSTe event I come out feeling empowered and remembering the importance of having a support group.
Your community will get you through it all — the highs and the lows.

My freshman year I felt lost and didn’t really know if creative writing was what I wanted to pursue. My mentor sent me an email that I still have to this day. She wrote, “Trust your thoughts and keep allowing yourself to be curious, and you will find your words.” I applied this to the types of classes to take and the kind of experiences I wanted to have in college. It’s trusting you’ll find what you’re looking for if you don’t limit yourself.

Advice to Scholars
Never be afraid to try new things even if they feel uncomfortable; at the end of the day you are only expanding your mindset and making yourself stronger. You are your own worst critic, but also your best advocate.
