Reporter Kim Baldonado recently interviewed our girls, mentors, and staff and put together this terrific piece for NBC LA’s Life Connected page:
Heartfelt thanks to Kim, her team and NBC LA for highlighting our work to help these amazing girls achieve their full potential!

Happy New Year, everyone! We’re excited to announce the details for our next MOSTe workshop. Please join us on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at USC for our third quarterly workshop, “Tapping Into Your Personal Mindset.”
As a special treat, President Kent Trachte of Lycoming College will attend the morning session. Lycoming and MOSTe are now in their third year as college access partners, an alliance that guarantees a generous financial aid package to the MOSTe scholars who qualify for admission. We’re proud to have five MOSTe students now attending Lyco in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and hope to increase our cohort this September.
See below for the complete workshop program and bus schedule. Admission is free, and lunch will be provided for all attendees. Please click here to register.

We’re now completely SOLD OUT for Krullapalooza IV, a night of comedy featuring Sarah Silverman and Margaret Cho, hosted by the amazing Tig Notaro as a benefit for MOSTe. If you didn’t snag a ticket, you’re still welcome to make a donation in honor of Suzanne Krull.

Krullapalooza IV takes over Largo at the Coronet on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 8 pm. Hosted every year by renowned comedienne Tig Notaro, the event features some of the best known comedians working today. The theme for this year’s show is GIRL POWER, something the late, great Suzanne Krull had and supported in spades — and which MOSTe has championed for 30 years.
Hope to see you April 1 at:

Krullapalooza is an annual comedy fundraising event dedicated to the memory of Suzanne Krull Spruyt, who left us in the summer of 2013 after a life-long battle with a rare connective tissue disorder. Against odds that should have crushed her spirit, Suzanne became a respected actress, writer and comedienne. Suzanne had a huge place in her heart for the underdog. If you were vulnerable, misunderstood, discriminated against or marginalized, she had your back. In honor of who she was and what she stood for, those who tried to love Suzanne as much as she loved us present Krullapalooza IV, as a benefit for MOSTe.

Lycoming College ‘20
Hundreds of young women from under-resourced communities in Los Angeles are either already in college or well on their way. And scores more have already earned their college diplomas.
That’s all thanks to your support of MOSTe.
MOSTe is making a huge difference in the lives of these young women and their families, differences that will extend generations into the future. We’re doing it with your help and we’d like to ask you for even more support.
California State Polytechnic University, Pomona ‘18
Every year, we launch our middle school girls on the journey to college by matching them with adult female volunteer mentors to nurture and guide their college ambitions. Your support allows us to offer workshops on academic success skills, to visit college campuses, and to enroll our students in SAT and ACT test preparation courses.
With your support, we create a “smart girl culture” that helps the girls envision their success and follow a realistic path to achieving their academic goals. Many of them can’t do it without our help.
Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to MOSTe this holiday season. Just click the nearby “DONATE” button or mail your check to the address on our Contact page.

Your contribution to MOSTe turns dollars into change — change that elevates the lives of young women, their families and their communities. That’s a gift too big to fit under the tree, and one we couldn’t give without you.
Thank you for helping these amazing young women achieve their full potential.
