Dear MOSTe Family,
We are excited to welcome new staff members to our team this fall! Ana Aldaco, our incoming Community Outreach Coordinator, will lead our recruiting and onboarding for both new students and mentors. She has been busy making presentations at our partner middle schools, signing up eager students at Cochran, Markham, Tibby, and LA Leadership Academy.
MOSTe Alumna Umaya Liyanage is now the Program Assistant, providing the team with both operational support and insights from her own experience. (Umaya took the LSAT last weekend, too, so send her positive thoughts!)
Our heartfelt thanks to our outgoing Volunteer Coordinator, Maira Tejeda, who created such insightful training and support for our mentors. All best wishes to her as she moves north to a new job at the University of Oregon.
We’re proud to share that MOSTe was selected by the Blank Rome law firm as the 2023 nonprofit partner for their Adopt-A-Center program, which supports local nonprofit organizations that provide essential outreach to underserved children and families in Los Angeles. Scholar and Parent Orientation
Thank you to all our community members who came together for the MOSTe Parent and Scholar Orientation in August. We were joined by returning and first year scholars, their families and our amazing mentors. This year is already off to an fantastic start and we are looking forward to growing our community through knowledge sharing and new experiences!
October 28 Career Fair
This year, Blank Rome will host our annual Career Fair at their offices in Century City, in conjunction with of their Adopt-A-Center program.
MOSTe scholars will enjoy a day filled with inspiring panels and discussions, and have opportunities to connect with professionals in a variety of fields including medicine, law, real estate and entertainment.
