2023 LevittQuinn Summer Newsletter
LevittQuinn has had a productive summer, thanks to the contributions of some outstanding college and law students. They helped us make our annual Shadow Day, organized in collaboration with Motivating Our Students Through Experience (MOSTe), a resounding success. MOSTe is a community-based mentoring, scholarship, and college-access organization that encourages young women’s education and success.
Amy Ludwig, MOSTe’s executive director, shared, “Career opportunities like the Job Shadow Day with LQ provide our scholars with invaluable, real-time ‘day in the life’ experiences, enabling them to envision their potential futures in similar roles. Witnessing lawyers who were also the first in their families to graduate college and learning about their paths makes our students’ professional aspirations feel more achievable and inspires them to persevere.”
Four MOSTe scholars spent the morning shadowing our team as they carried out a variety of lawyering tasks. The day ended with a trip to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse and visits to the courtrooms of Commissioner Laura Cohen and Judge Elizabeth Potter Scully.
