RT isn't going anywhere – RT World News

We are just doing our job as journalists, and the Western establishment has been trying to get rid of us for almost 20 years.

There is nothing surprising about the US State Department's latest accusations. At this point, it's fun to see what their paranoid minds will come up with. Yet for almost 20 years since its launch, RT has merely done its journalistic job, bringing to audiences around the world the stories and voices that traditional media won't allow. And the Western establishment has been trying to get rid of RT all this time.

In 1962, then US President John F. Kennedy said: “We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competing values. A nation that is afraid to let its people judge truth and falsehood in an open marketplace is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

The claims the US government has made about RT over the past two weeks demonstrate exactly the opposite: that they are actually afraid, terrified of any genuinely dissenting voice, lest their people believe it. And they are also afraid that this voice will be heard not only in the US, but in other countries and regions of the world. They want to be the ones who control all the information, all the stories.

Well, bad luck for them, because RT is not going anywhere. We will continue to do our job and continue to find new ways to reach audiences, in every corner of the world.
