NFL oddsmakers reveal shocking bet: Panthers won’t win after brutal start

For two weeks, the Carolina Panthers have looked like the worst team in the NFL by a wide margin.

FanDuel has Carolina at just 20/1 odds to be perhaps the worst team of all time and not win a single game this season.

The Panthers recently benched starting quarterback Bryce Young, who looked like the worst player at the position this season.

Andy Dalton will replace Young going forward as the Panthers attempt to rebuild the former Alabama product.

The Panthers have scored just one touchdown in two weeks and have been outscored 73-13 this season.

However, parody in the NFL should reign supreme and help the Panthers avoid further disaster.

An optimistic view would say that first-year head coach Dave Canales might have won some hearts in the locker room by letting Young go.

The quick addition of Young and the addition of a pro like Dalton should help rally the troops for their Week 3 road matchup against the Raiders.

Carolina’s schedule isn’t conducive to a winless season either.

The Panthers are just 5.5-point underdogs to the Raiders this weekend, with Dalton starting opposite Gardner Minshew.

Carolina also faces NFC East play, meaning it will have the chance to play at the Washington Commanders (Oct. 20) and battle the Giants in Munich (Nov. 10).

Between the Commanders’ game and the Giants will be a road matchup against the Broncos, who are winless and struggling with first-year quarterback Bo Nix.

Betting on the NFL?

If the Panthers somehow remain winless after November 10, we’re looking at a disastrous season in which they very well could go winless.

Carolina finishes its schedule facing the Chiefs, Buccaneers, Eagles, Cowboys, Cardinals, Buccaneers and Falcons.

You might think the odds of them not winning against those remaining opponents are +300 or less.

Still, there have been no teams with double-digit deficits through three weeks for the first time in NFL history.

Adding to that trend is the fact that favorites by six points or more are 0-8 against the spread and 4-4 straight up.
