Michael Madsen files for divorce, alleging his wife drove his son to suicide

It’s over for Michael Madsen and DeAnna Madsen.

The 66-year-old filed for divorce from his ex-wife, DeAnna Madsen, after 28 years of marriage.

Madsen cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, according to court documents obtained by the Post, and said they officially separated shortly after their 26-year-old son Hudson died by suicide on Jan. 25, 2022.

The documents dated Tuesday, September 17, were filed in a Los Angeles court and indicate that the exes were married on April 15, 1996.

He “Kill BillThe star signed a statement and attached it to the petition as part of the legal filing accusing DeAnna of driving her son to suicide “through her negligence, drinking and alcoholism.”

She also insisted that the “irreconcilable differences” she listed “do not adequately describe the divorce petition.”

The Post has reached out to a representative for Madsen for comment.

Madsen requested a domestic violence restraining order, according to the documents, and also denied the domestic violence charges filed against him by DeAnna last month.

“Defendant also contributed significantly to my personal problems. I am a victim of an abusive, codependent, and toxic relationship that culminated in Defendant entering my home and wrongfully arresting me for domestic violence,” she said in her statement.

Last month, Madsen was taken into custody on August 17, after being arrested under California Penal Code Section 243(e)(1), which is battery on a spouse, according to online records obtained by People.

The incident occurred at his Malibu home, and Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call shortly after midnight on the west end of the affluent community regarding a “family disturbance.”

“The reporting party stated that an adult female alleged that her husband pushed her and locked her out of their residence,” Lt. Adam Zeko told Fox News Digital.

“Based on the initial investigation, officers determined that Michael Madsen was involved in a domestic incident involving his wife. Mr. Madsen was arrested for misdemeanor spousal battery.”

Zeko also added that the misdemeanor can carry a punishment of up to one year in jail.

“The reporting party stated that an adult female alleged that her husband pushed her and locked her out of their residence,” he continued. “The investigation is ongoing and will be forwarded to Van Nuys Superior Court for filing.”

At the time of his arrest, bail was set at $20,000. On August 19, a representative told the outlet that the actor had returned home.

His representative also said TMZ and Variety In a statement, “This was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope will be resolved positively for both of them.”

In February 2022, Madsen was arrested on a misdemeanor trespassing charge, which came just a month after Hudson’s death.

The Malibu resident, best known for films such as “Kill Bill” and “Thelma & Louise,” married DeAnna in 1996. The couple also has two sons, Luke and Calvin. He was previously married twice.
