LIV golfers will be able to participate in the Ryder Cup and the PGA Championship

“The PGA Board has decided that LIV Golf players will be eligible “to ensure that the PGA Championship continues to offer the strongest field in golf and that the U.S. Ryder Cup team continues to have access to the best American players,” he said in a statement.

Thus, “all LIV players will be eligible for the PGA and any American player who qualifies for the Ryder Cup or is selected by the captain will be eligible to compete.”

Brooks Koepka, for example, was part of the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 2023, but it was thanks to a grace period that allowed him to temporarily retain his PGA of America membership despite having signed with LIV.

The next PGA Championship will be held from 15-18 May at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition, the United States will host the 2025 Ryder Cup at the Bethpage Black Course on Long Island, New York, in September.
