The New York Jets had a game to remember in their 24-3 rout of the New England Patriots on Thursday night. The club went into the locker room with a 14-3 lead and looked to be in complete control of their AFC East rival through both quarters. While everything on the field was ideal for Gang Green in the first half, there was one interesting moment between quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Robert Saleh that created a stir on social media.

After the Jets took a 14-0 lead over the Patriots on Breece Hall's goal-line touchdown, Saleh and Rodgers quickly shook hands on the sideline. When the head coach came over to hug him, Rodgers stoned him by putting his hands on his chest and appearing to say something sternly to him.

After the game, Rodgers provided some context, saying, “It wasn't awkward at all… He's not a big hugger, so I didn't know he was going to do it. He also likes to do two-handed chest thrusts, but he talks a lot about two-touchdown leads. So I just kind of pushed him and said, 'Two-touchdown lead,' and that's what happened.”

Saleh also downplayed the moment. “I just wanted to see something on defense. It just reminded me that we had a two-point lead.”

The Jets' offense did its best to extend its lead over New England, scoring points in every quarter of Thursday's win. Rodgers, meanwhile, put on a vintage performanceThe veteran quarterback completed 27 of his 35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. In total, New York racked up 400 yards of total offense compared to New England's 139. They also dominated the game in terms of time of possession, holding the ball for over 40 minutes in the winning effort.
