FCT Police Accuse NSCDC of Hiding Alleged Ritual Suspect

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has demanded the release of an alleged internet fraudster and suspected money ritualist.

The suspect was reportedly arrested on Wednesday by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The suspect was arrested by the Civil Corps for allegedly attempting to endanger the life of a female victim in his hotel room.

A statement issued by command spokeswoman Josephine Adeh on Thursday was accompanied by a video that captured the victim, naked and confined to a seat where she had been bound with tape.

Background sources gave further details of the situation, stating that the hotel only became aware of the suspect's act after a staff member from its room service unit raised the alarm about possible threats in the suspect's room.

The whistler It was learnt that after alerting management, the suspect was required to untie the female victim while they contacted NSCDC staff.

As of Wednesday, the FCT Police Command said, the NSCDC was yet to hand over the suspect.

The statement read: “The FCT Police Command is aware of video footage circulating of a lady who was criminally confined at Top View Hotel, Wuse, Abuja on the 17th of September 2024 by a suspected internet fraudster, allegedly for money ritual.

“Findings revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has detained the suspect and is yet to hand him over to the police for diligent investigation.

“The FCT Police Command, for all intents and purposes, expects the NSCDC to hand over all parties to commence a diligent and discreet investigation.

“Further updates will be communicated in due course.”
