Dave Portnoy is already all over these Patriots after brutal loss to the Jets

It's getting early evening in New England.

At least According to Dave Portnoy.

The Barstool Sports founder and avid Patriots fan wasn't thrilled with the team's performance Thursday night against the rival Jets, which ended with a 24-3 victory for Gang Green at MetLife Stadium.

He even took things a step further, saying the Patriots already look like a team that will have one of the highest picks in the NFL draft next April.

“The Pats can lose this game by 1000,” he wrote on X before writing another scathing critique of the team.

“And with the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select Travis Hunter from Colorado,” he wrote in the follow-up.

It was a brutal day overall for the Patriots' offense, and starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett took a beating, being sacked five times in the loss.

When he wasn't being smothered by the Jets' defense, Brissett completed just 12 of 18 passes for 98 yards.

Amid a tough night for New England's offense, which managed just 139 total yards, Portnoy said Brissett wasn't getting enough money, likely because of the pressure he continually faced.

“What we're paying Jacoby Brissett isn't enough,” he wrote in a follow-up to X.

Brissett was eventually relieved by rookie Drake Maye, who made his NFL debut with a brief appearance in the fourth quarter.

Maye, the Patriots' first-round pick in this year's draft, completed four passes for 22 yards but was also sacked four times.

After a thrilling Week 1 win over the Bengals, the Patriots have now lost two straight.

The Jets, who snapped a 15-game losing streak to the Patriots in Week 18 last year, have now won two straight against their rivals.
