Fans of the actor were delighted to learn that he will star alongside Jennifer Lopez in “Office Romance.”
News of Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy broke on Tuesday. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the “Ted Lasso” alum will write the script for the film alongside Joe Kelly.
Social media users were quick to point out Goldstein’s longtime crush on Lopez, something he has frequently expressed on his social media. Podcast “Movies to bury yourself with”.
A fan posted a clip via X Goldstein raved about the actress’ appearance on “The Hustlers” in a July 2018 episode.
“Fuck! 50!” the comedian exclaimed about Lopez’s age at the time. “She’s 50. I love her.”
He went on to express jealousy toward one of his female co-stars during a scene in which Lopez was wearing a fur coat while hugging her.
“I’ve never wanted to be hugged so much,” Goldstein said. “That’s one of the best hugs … give me one of your special hugs.”
Other user X An Instagram Story slide resurfaced showing Lopez’s thirsty Emmy winner with heart eyes and trippy emojis.
“Never forget that Brett Goldstein loves @JLo,” the fan reminded others. “He said she was his crush and now they’re starring in a rom-com together. Go ahead, protest king.”
Reddit users also celebrated He wrote, “I think she’s one of his favorites; I think he mentioned more than once (on his podcast) that he thinks she’s the most beautiful woman in the world. He must be ecstatic!”
Another added: “Brett loves Jennifer Lopez so I’m happy he gets to act with his crush.”
One Instagram user warned followers to “watch this space” as “he is very much in love with her.”
It’s worth noting that Lopez is newly single, having filed for divorce from husband Ben Affleck in August after two years of marriage and months of speculation about the split.
As for Goldstein, his only public romance was with actress Beth Rylance in 2021.
