Braves' mistake became Mets' good luck with Luis Angel Acuña

When Francisco Lindor suffered a back injury last Friday in Philadelphia, the Mets' playoff prospects appeared to be in serious trouble.

But Luisangel Acuña has arrived and taken Queens by storm.

However, the rookie probably wouldn't have made it to the Mets if not for some shady dealings by the Braves more than seven years ago.

Acuña was scheduled to sign with the Braves as an international free agent out of Venezuela in July 2017, joining the organization with which his half-brother, Ronald Acuña Jr., would eventually become an MVP.
