Amy Robach says there's no rush to marry TJ Holmes
Amy Robach and TJ Holmes are in no rush to say “I do.”
“I don’t have any urgency because I’m 51 years old. I don’t need to rush into anything,” Robach said. He said in “I Do, Part 2” her new podcast about “love, resilience and second chances” with Holmes, Jennie Garth and Jana Kramer.
“I think I've been too hasty in everything so far, but he knows I want to get married and I know he wants to get married too.”
Robach, who has been dating Holmes since 2022, clarified that she and her partner have “told each other and publicly” that they want to live the rest of their lives together.
“We haven’t set a timeline and we talk about it all the time. I don’t think a week goes by that we don’t discuss things like, ‘Should we? Should we?’” he said while laughing.
Holmes, 47, chimed in, explaining that love with Robach feels “different.”
“I’m a huge fan of love. There’s nothing I love more than a wedding and the idea of someone making that commitment and starting over and building something together,” he gushed.
“This time is different for me, I don’t feel like it’s the next step. (Like, ‘What do I do? It’s been so long.’ No, I just want to marry her.”
Robach agreed, telling listeners she feels “safe” and “comfortable” with her man.
“It’s very easy to know that this person has made a public and legal commitment to work things out with you,” she shared, later adding, “I want to get married and I love the idea of having a partner and being together through the good days and the bad.”
The former hosts previously discussed marriage as “on the table” on a December 2023 episode of their “Amy & TJ” podcast.
Months later, in April, Robach and Holmes confessed that they were still debating whether they should legally marry or simply continue as life partners without the label.
“We’re still deciding what that level of commitment is … whether it’s legal or not,” Robach said on the podcast.
“But mentally and emotionally, we have absolutely agreed to commit to each other. We haven't worked out the marriage thing yet.”
Meanwhile, Holmes confessed that getting married would feel “more official” and “more real.”
Robach and Holmes struck up a romantic relationship while co-hosting “GMA3” in 2022, when they were both still legally married to Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, respectively.
However, both have vehemently denied any cheating allegations, insisting they were already separated from their respective partners before getting together.
A year after their explosive relationship made headlines, Page Six exclusively revealed that Shue and Fiebig had been dating for six months after bonding over the traumatic experience of the scandal.
