ALMA telescope captures giant bubbles on the surface of a star
Astronomers have captured the detailed motion of giant gas bubbles on the surface of a star close to our solar system using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) telescope in Chile. This observation is part of research led by Professor Vlemmings of Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, into what happens when a star approaches extinction.
