Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling’s children “don’t care” about their movies

Eva Mendes’ harshest critics are her own children.

The 50-year-old “Training Day” star revealed the “Tonight’s Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” On Wednesday, her and Ryan Gosling’s two daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 10, and Amada Lee, 8, have never seen any of their movies.

“They don’t care,” Mendes said. “This was a year ago. I tried to show them a scene from ‘Hitch’ that I was really proud of because I’m scared of deep, dark water. I had to do a comedic physical stunt in the Hudson River. I was really scared. So that day I faced a fear and did this stunt, and I was proud of it.”

“One time, one of my girls was scared and I was like, ‘Ooh, this is a chance to show off,’” Mendes continued. “I played them the song and I was like, ‘This is mom facing her fear.’”

However, Esmeralda and Amada were “not impressed at all” after watching a clip of their mother’s 2005 film with Will Smith.

“They were just like, ‘OK, Mom, can we go out?’” Mendes said. “They didn’t care.”

After 16 years in the business, Mendes stepped away from acting in 2014 to raise her children and focus on other business ventures.

But he had a voice role in an episode of “Bluey” in 2021, which caught the attention of his daughters.

“They were blown away by that!” Mendes told Fallon, 50, adding that the animated children’s series is his family’s “favorite show.”

She also revealed that she “asked” for her role as a yoga instructor on the show.

Mendes hasn’t acted in 10 years, but Gosling, 43, is still a huge Hollywood star. And, unsurprisingly, his movie “Barbie” was a big hit with his daughters.

“It was beautiful because the girls were a huge part of that,” Mendes shared of his partner’s role in Greta Gerwig’s 2023 film, in which he starred alongside Margot Robbie.

“They were a huge part of him accepting the role,” she continued. “There are 30 Barbies in the house and a Ken, so he thought, ‘There’s something here.’”

Mendes has been doing press for her first children’s book, “Desi, Mommy and the Endless Worries.” When she stopped by “Good morning America” On Tuesday, she revealed that her daughters are fans of the book.

“They love it, I think they love it. They are very harsh critics, though,” he told George Stephanopolous. “They’ve seen it in every incarnation. But at first they were like, ‘Mmmh.’ I was like, ‘I understand.’”

“But the other day I got really emotional. My little girl, who just turned 10, was going through a tough time and I swear I walked into her room and she was reading the book. I was like a crying mom. But that really got to me.”

Earlier this year, Mendes revealed that she and Gosling, who have been together since 2011, had “a non-verbal agreement” to put her acting career on hold to raise their children.

“It was just like, OK, he’s going to work and I’m going to work, I’m just going to work here,” she said.

The couple keep their daughters out of the spotlight, although they did take them to the Paris Olympics over the summer.
