CBS promotes Lance Frank to lead communications for CBS News and stations

CBS is promoting Lance Frank to lead all communications for CBS News, Stations & Media Ventures.

Frank, a 13-year CBS News veteran, will oversee all internal and external communications for CBS News, CBS Stations, syndication, talent, programming, first-run syndication and division strategy, reporting to Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures; and also to Chris Ender, executive vice president of communications for CBS.

Frank has served as a key advisor to CBS News executives such as McMahon, and has also worked closely with talent across the division on programs such as 60 minutes and the CBS Evening News.

“I have personally known Lance for a long time. He is a gifted communicator, a great strategist and a trusted advisor,” McMahon wrote in a note to staff Thursday. “Just as importantly, he understands the power of collaboration. In a short period of time, he has already energized, encouraged and empowered the cross-divisional team to work together. He truly sees the value, strength and effectiveness that comes when people work as one team.”

“Since January, Lance has been working at full speed and with determination, skillfully communicating new developments across the organization and amplifying our editorial coverage across broadcast, digital and streaming outlets,” Ender added in a note of his own. “He is a great thinker, an excellent advisor to senior leaders and a fantastic collaborator with all of our CBS communications teams. Positive media and talent relations are core to his DNA (as are Saturday afternoons in the fall cheering on his LSU Tigers).”
