Kamala Harris criticized for her latest 'word salad'

Vice President Kamala Harris is being ridiculed for her latest word salads, with many suggesting it even left celebrity supporter Oprah Winfrey looking confused and “lost.”

The Democratic presidential nominee repeatedly rambled during her star-studded two-hour virtual rally with Winfrey on Thursday night, with the television host at times pushing her to give direct answers to her questions.

She then finished with a two-minute monologue that confused many people listening, including Winfrey, according to online commentators who said the powerful media mogul seemed “lost” and “unimpressed.”

“We love our country. I love our country. I know we all love our country, that’s why we’re all here now. We love our country. We take pride in the privilege of being Americans, and this is a moment when (pause) we can and should come together as Americans, understanding that we have much more in common than what separates us,” Harris said, pausing and smiling.

“Let’s unite with the character that we are so proud of who we are,” he said.

“We believe in what is possible, we believe in what can be, and we believe in fighting for it,” she said, using her favorite and much-maligned phrase “what can be,” as she advocated for the “freedom to just be.”

“Hmm,” Winfrey replied with a poker face.

Harris concluded: “And that’s who we are; we believe in all of that, and so this is a moment where we find ourselves knowing what we’re fighting for. We’re not fighting against it, we’re fighting for what we’re fighting for.”

Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt shared a clip of the monologue, sarcastically comparing it to “Bill and Ted” by saying, “Kamala’s excellent adventure continues.”

“An epic word salad,” he wrote.

“The media should be ashamed of themselves right now. She’s running for president of the United States of America and all we hear is either scripted comments or nonsense with Oprah.”

“OMG… this is actually worse than I thought!” wrote one follower, while another said: “My IQ dropped 40 points watching that.”

The two-hour “Unite for America” livestreamed event from Michigan was intended to highlight grassroots organizers backing Harris and give voters a chance to ask her about her platform, but the Democratic presidential nominee did not offer any new policy proposals.

When a viewer asked Harris what her plan is “to help lower the cost of living,” she replied: “Yours is a story I hear all over the country when I travel. In terms of having the right to have aspirations and dreams and ambitions for your family and working hard and finding that the American dream is, for this generation and so many others recently, much harder to achieve than it has been.”

“And we have to deal with that,” he said, offering only the possibility of “reducing the cost of daily necessities, including food,” which have risen during his administration under President Biden.
