The Cliff Diver present new uniforms for the new season

They say that variety is the spice of life.

The Wheeling Nailers are taking it seriously and announcing their uniform lineup for the 2024-25 season.

The Pittsburgh Penguins' ECHL affiliate will wear three uniforms regularly throughout the season: a dark uniform, a white uniform and an alternate uniform.

The dark uniforms will remain largely the same as they were during the 2023-24 season. The jersey is black and features the Nailers' traditional logo with the mask and crossed nails on the shield. The colored portion of the logo is sunflower yellow to match the rest of the organization. Each affiliate is represented on one shoulder, with Pittsburgh on the player's left and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on the player's right.

The stripes are sunflower yellow and white, the numbers are sunflower yellow with a white outline, and the letters change from white to sunflower yellow. Black helmets are worn with these jerseys, as well as Pittsburgh Penguins pants, which have a stripe down each side.

The white uniforms will have a similar identity to the dark uniforms, as they incorporate sunflower yellow, as opposed to Vegas gold, which was used on the white uniforms in previous seasons.

Although the color changes, the style of the logo on the crest of the white uniforms remains the same, featuring the traditional mask and crossed nails, plus the word “Wheeling Nailers” in Easterly font inside a circle. Each affiliate is represented on one shoulder, with Pittsburgh on the player's left and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on the player's right. The stripes are sunflower yellow and white, the numbers are black with a sunflower yellow outline, and the lettering is black. New yellow helmets are being worn with these jerseys, in addition to the Pittsburgh Penguins' pants, which are also being worn with the dark jerseys.

Vegas Gold remains part of the uniform, but is carried over to the alternate uniform as the primary color. The last time the Nailers wore Vegas Gold as a jersey color was in the 2007-08 season, when it was also used as an alternate color.

Instead of a logo, the word “Nailers” is written diagonally across the front of the jersey, entirely in black. The numbers and lettering are also black, with no outline. The stripes and shoulders are black, with the shoulders again displaying the affiliate logos.

As on the white and dark uniforms, Pittsburgh is on the player's left and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is on the right. Black helmets and plain black pants are worn with these jerseys.

The white uniforms will be worn primarily at home for the first half of the season, then will transition to primarily road wear after the All-Star break in mid-January. The Nailers will wear special home jerseys on four occasions: Military Appreciation Night (Nov. 8), Star Wars Night (Jan. 11), Pittsburgh Penguins Night (Feb. 8) and St. Patrick's Day (March 15).

The Nailers open the 2024-25 season on the road against the Maine Mariners on Friday, October 18. Fans will get a first-hand look at the new uniforms during the team’s home opener on Saturday, November 2 against expansion team Bloomington Bison at 7:10 p.m. and will feature trick shots by Swaggy P.
