Joel Embiid signs $193 million contract extension in high-profile move for 76ers
This should put to rest any rumors that Joel Embiid wants out of Philadelphia.
The star center plans to sign a three-year, $193 million extension with the 76ers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Friday morning.
Embiid, 30, had two years and $110 million remaining on his contract and a player option for the 2026-27 season.
The extension will further connect you to the only franchise you know.
The 76ers will look to make a jumpstart this upcoming season after being eliminated by the Knicks in six games in the first round in April.
The team signed star forward Paul George as a free agent to pair with Embiid and rising guard Tyrese Maxey on what should be a formidable contender in the Eastern Conference.
