The former president has claimed that Democrats would drag the United States into World War III
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has claimed that an election victory for his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, would ultimately lead to a war with Russia, potentially triggering a “Nuclear Holocaust”.
During a campaign rally in Las Vegas on Friday, Trump expressed concern about a possible nuclear conflict due to the “incompetent people” in Washington, claiming that he is the only one capable of avoiding a total war.
“We will end up in a Third World War. If we are not careful, we will have a nuclear holocaust. These people have no idea what they are doing.” He warned his followers, promising to keep the Americans “outside the Third World War.”
“I will end the chaos in the Middle East and resolve the war in Ukraine… I will resolve that as president-elect,” He went on to argue that “A vote for Comrade Kamala Harris is a vote for war with Russia.”
Trump also claimed that Harris is looking to reinstate the draft for “Recruit your son and drag him into a war that should never have happened.”
The former US president insists that the conflict in Ukraine would not have happened if he had been in office at the time. Throughout his re-election campaign, he has repeatedly claimed that he could stop the fighting “in 24 hours” but has not specified how it would do so.
Earlier this week, Trump's running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, shed light on a possible peace proposal, suggesting it would likely involve creating a demilitarized zone around the current line of contact and guaranteeing Ukraine's neutrality, which aligns with one of Russia's main goals.
Harris, however, maintains that Trump would abandon Ukraine, stating that his efforts as part of the Biden administration, including supplying it with weapons and ammunition, have ensured that the country remains “independent and free” To this day.
