Sean 'Diddy' Combs was placed on suicide watch amid sex trafficking trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been placed on suicide watch after being denied bail following his arrest on sex trafficking and racketeering charges on Monday.

Combs' rep and attorney, as well as the New York City Department of Corrections, did not immediately respond to Page Six's requests for comment.

The 54-year-old music mogul is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The detention center, which opened in 1994 and houses more than 1,200 people, has a reputation for violence, poor conditions, food contamination and suicides. The New York Times reported.

In July, an inmate died from injuries sustained during a fight inside the Metropolitan Detention Center, which his attorney described as “an overcrowded, understaffed and neglected federal prison that is hell on Earth.”

The Bad Boy Records founder was charged Tuesday in federal court in Lower Manhattan with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation for prostitution.

In a 14-page indictment, prosecutors accused Combs of “creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in… sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.”

The indictment also revealed that federal officers discovered drugs, more than 1,000 bottles of lubricant and three AR-15s during March raids at his mansions in Miami and Los Angeles.

“Mr. Combs is a fighter… he is not afraid of the charges,” the rapper's attorney, Marc Agnifilo, told reporters after Tuesday's arraignment.

“He was looking forward to this day, he was looking forward to clearing his name. He didn’t do these things.”

The hip-hop mogul has faced a growing list of legal troubles over the past year after his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura sued him for rape and abuse in November 2023.

Although they settled out of court in less than 24 hours, Combs subsequently received additional sexual assault lawsuits from other alleged victims.

He has maintained his innocence.
