Vikings' Justin Jefferson says he'll “definitely” play against the Texans

EAGAN, Minn. — As for Justin Jefferson, there's no question he'll play Sunday against the Houston Texans, despite a right quadriceps bruise that kept him out of the Minnesota Vikings' Week 2 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Asked Thursday if he'll play against the Texans, Jefferson said, “Oh, yeah, for sure.”

Jefferson suffered the injury while trying to block 49ers linebacker Fred Warner during a running play. On Thursday, Jefferson said he had failed to do his job and should not have been around Warner.

“I was supposed to stand in the corner and pretty much chase him away,” Jefferson said. “I just have to make sure I know my rules.”

Jefferson participated in limited practice Wednesday and Thursday. He said the injury has him feeling “really good,” adding, “I'm just taking it day by day, just staying in the treatment room and working with those guys to make sure I feel fantastic on Sunday.”

Meanwhile, fellow receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) did not practice Thursday and is not expected to play against the visiting Texans.
