Trump supporters who sat on stage during Arizona rally suffer mysterious eye injuries

Several Donald Trump supporters say they suffered a mysterious eye injury and were forced to seek medical attention for “excruciating” pain after sitting behind the former president during his rally in Arizona.

Mayra Rodriguez was among Trump’s most loyal supporters, sitting in a limited portion of the right side of the stage behind the former president at the Ronstadt Music Hall in Tucson on Sept. 12. KVOA reported.

Rodriguez said he began experiencing eye irritation when he left the venue after the nearly 80-minute speech.

“As soon as we walked outside, my eyes were burning,” Rodriguez, a former Planned Parenthood director, whistleblower and vocal Republican Party figure, told the outlet.

Thinking it was simply her allergies, Rodriguez got into her car and began the 90-minute drive back to her home in Phoenix.

However, the irritation in her eyes became so severe during the trip home that she rushed to the emergency room.

Once she arrived, the “PA (physician assistant) triage nurse” started asking her if she had been “sprayed with anything,” the former Hillary Clinton voter turned Trump supporter said.

“Are you sure you weren’t sprayed with something? Your symptoms seem to indicate that you were sprayed with something,” she said the emergency personnel asked her.

Her symptoms only continued to worsen the next day.

“I can’t see anything when I try to open my eyes. I see a bright light,” Rodriguez said. “It hurts, it hurts a lot to open my eyes. I have a cold cloth that I put on and take off constantly. It’s horrible.”

Medical staff were unable to reach an exact diagnosis of what caused his eye injuries.

However, Rodriguez said News 12 that a doctor explained that the lights in the place did not cause his injuries.

KVOA reported that she was “nearly blind” when they spoke to her that Friday after the rally.

Fortunately, his vision improved on Tuesday, according to KVOA.

A brother and sister, who asked not to be identified, said they were sitting next to Rodriguez and made eerily similar statements.

“It just kept getting worse,” the sister told KVOA of the symptoms she experienced after leaving the Trump rally.

“My eyes were watering a lot, my nose started to run, then I started to feel like my face was getting really red and my neck felt like it was on fire and from there everything just got worse.”

As for his brother, he described the same escalation of pain, which he described as “unbearable.”

“It was all focused on my eyes, my eyes were red as hell, you know, it’s unbearable. I couldn’t stand it,” she told the outlet.

The Secret Service said it was not aware of the incident with the rally-goers but said there was no threat to Trump at the Arizona event, where more than 2,000 of his supporters turned out to hear him speak again about the November election, the organization told the outlet.

As for Rodriguez, he told News 12 he’s curious why the members of the group sitting on the right side of the stage were the only ones affected.

“Why only the group that Trump joined?” he asked.

The bizarre incident comes just days before authorities say a suspected gunman attempted to assassinate Trump at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday afternoon.

The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, approached within 300 to 500 yards of Trump at a chain-link fence at the edge of the golf course while armed with an AK-style assault rifle, but was spotted by a Secret Service agent who opened fire on him, authorities say.
