Jets' Haason Reddick breaks silence on social media

Haason Reddick posted on X for the first time in over two months.

But the meaning of what he said was not entirely clear.

Reddick, whom the Jets traded for in the offseason, has continued his holdout as he seeks a new contract.

But for the first time since July, Reddick posted on X on Thursday, about nine hours before the Jets were scheduled to tip off the Patriots on “Thursday Night Football.”

“God will always make a way,” he said. He wrote with a praying hands emoji.

It's unclear if this meant anything related to the Jets or his contract situation.

Red Dick has not posted on Instagram since hosting its sixth annual football camp in Camden, New Jersey, in July.

After the Jets allowed quarterback Bryce Huff to sign with the Eagles, the Jets reached an agreement with Philadelphia to acquire Reddick, the two-time Pro Bowler who has four consecutive seasons with double-digit sacks.

Reddick, by continuing his strike, will lose about $800,000 per game and, according to ESPN, will owe $21.75 million, which includes $4.5 million in fines.

Without Huff on the team and Reddick off the report, the Jets have relied on others to fill the void at defensive back, though one of those key players is likely unavailable for the rest of the year.

Third-year defenseman Jermaine Johnson suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Sunday's win over the Panthers, and was officially placed on injured reserve Thursday.

Defender Will McDonald leads the team with three sacks heading into their Week 3 game against the Patriots.
